SomaFM Groove Salad (128k MP3)

Groove Salad is the channel that started SomaFM, the independent, listener-supported internet radio group from San Francisco, back in 2000. More than two decades later it's still the one most people mean when they say "put SomaFM on".

The sound is ambient beats and downtempo: Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, Air, and a deep bench of electronic producers you won't hear on commercial radio. Tempos stay slow and even, there are no ads, and the station barely speaks. The music is chosen by a person, not a recommendation engine, and it shows in how the hours flow.

Focused work, coding, studying, late evenings. It's background music that is never boring when you do listen.

This is the 128 kbps MP3 stream, which works everywhere. For more in this mood, browse Chill and Ambient, or switch to Radio Paradise when you want songs with vocals.
